Techmer PM Support of the Plastics Industry
As a leading producer of colors and additives for the plastics and fiber industries, innovation is at the core of what we do. Techmer PM has a laser focus on fostering innovation internally to develop customer-centric solutions and bring new products to market, as well as to create operational efficiencies and accelerate our sustainability efforts. In addition, Techmer PM continues to support innovation efforts at all levels of the supply chain to help drive the overall market forward. We can provide the most value when we contribute our time, talent, and internal resources toward industry activities that foster innovation, technology growth and advancement, as well as inspire the next generation of leaders and innovators.
One important way we help foster innovation across the industry is by hosting key conferences and events. This includes Fibertech and a Southern California Technical Conference, co-hosted with our Techmer ES business unit. Both events bring together industry leaders−including key suppliers and manufacturers−to discuss trends and technological developments, as well as collaborate on next-generation solutions to challenging problems. We are always looking for opportunities within the marketplace to strengthen our impact and promote industry innovation and collaboration.
Innovation and Technology Centers
Within Techmer PM, we continually invest in our facilities to stay ahead of the curve. For example, our Fiber Service Center in Dalton, Georgia offers designers an interactive experience. Here, floor coverings designers can work with our team when they need a quick custom color solution for rug, carpet or other flooring products. In addition, we operate Polytest, an independently certified polymer testing laboratory in Clinton, Tennessee that specializes in plastics testing, additive and color technology, and chemical analysis.
Techmer PM supports student designers, many of whom will be pioneers of the next generation, via our sponsorship of the Royal Society of the Arts (RSA) Student Design Awards (SDAs). The SDAs, which are awarded annually, include the prestigious Bill Moggridge Award for Interdisciplinary Design.
Other Techmer PM-sponsored, RSA award categories include: Designcraft, Sustainable Design, Materials Science, and Design Innovation. The award criteria centers on innovation. Students who submit proposals for consideration describe their research and insights for their particular design, communicate the benefits they believe their project will create, and discuss the possibilities of implementation.
In other areas, Techmer PM also is a proud supporter of Roman Open Charities, which each year awards six scholarships to students at Dalton State College and Georgian Northwestern Technical College.
Supply Chain Responsibility
At Techmer PM we have always set high standards for the way we conduct business in the areas of corporate and social responsibility, business ethics, and compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. In turn, we expect the same commitment from our suppliers. This is why we have established the Techmer PM Supplier Conduct Principles. These principles establish the standards required for conducting business with Techmer PM. Our goal is to work with our suppliers to ensure full compliance with these principles.
