Techmer PM Adds Capacity at Tennessee Site

Techmer PM, a major producer of value-added colors and additives for the plastics and fiber industries, announced the addition of new manufacturing capacity at its plant in Clinton, Tennessee.

The new line was installed in a new extension to the site, bringing the total footprint of the plant to over 200,000 square feet. The 50mm twin screw mega compounder includes numerous up- and down-stream innovations along with an ergonomic material handling system proven to increase efficiencies and reduce the risk of injury to machine operators. This line will compound over 5 million pounds annually, with capabilities in a wide range of polymer systems. It has been engineered to accurately handle complex formulations with multiple components. The project represented a $3 million investment with a focus toward higher value-added products. VP of Technology Abe Mor noted, “Our formulations are becoming more complex with a need for very accurate additions of key ingredients. We have to match our laboratory investments with highly capable manufacturing additions.”
