2014 Conference Theme Focused on Increasing Collaboration among Supply Chain Partners

CLINTON, Tenn., March 20, 2014 –Techmer PM, a leading producer of value-added colors and additives for the plastics and fiber industries, hosted its annual Fibertech conference on March 5 and 6 in Chattanooga, Tenn. The conference, which was held in conjunction with the American Fiber Manufacturers Association (AFMA) Spring Board Meeting, has become a leading event for fiber suppliers and manufacturers. This year more than 190 people attended.

Fibertech was launched in 2001 amid challenging macroeconomic conditions as a way for companies across the fiber supply chain to collaborate and discuss the latest technological developments and industry trends. It has now become an annual event in the USA, and there has been a Fibertech held in Dubai, UAE, and Sao Paulo, Brazil.

John Manuck, Techmer PM chairman and CEO, set the tone of the event with a call to action among all members to drive industry growth by investing in innovation. He called for the commitment of management to “attack the global competitive landscape by embracing the collaborative model to accelerate innovation in ideas, systems, and products.”

This year’s Fibertech conference, which was sponsored by BASF, Albemarle, and Applied DNA Sciences, included presentations about recent developments in anti-counterfeiting technology, 3D additive manufacturing, and the use of mobile technology to perform color matching. Jan van Lohuizen, former White House pollster during the George W. Bush administration, also provided a 2014 election year political outlook.
