CLINTON, Tenn., May 23, 2012 – Techmer PM, a major producer of value-added colors and additives for the plastics and fiber industries, recently announced the international launch of Techflow to address the issue of flow lines in blow molding applications. The addition of Techflow bolsters an already robust line of blow molding products, but it is the first that specifically targets the reduction in flow lines associated with poor die surface.
Techflow was developed in response to the concerns of producers in the personal care and food and beverage industries about the impact of flow lines and surface imperfections on the experience of the end consumer. “Our customers using Techflow are not only seeing improvements to the aesthetics of their parts, but they are also benefiting through lower scrap rates and faster purge times in their manufacturing process,” said Steve Loney, industry manager, blow molding at Techmer PM.
Techflow has been FDA approved for food contact and, therefore, can be used in all consumer product applications including food and beverage, personal care, and health and wellness. In addition to reducing or eliminating flow lines, Techflow enhances processing, improves surface quality, and decreases purge time at an addition rate of 1-2%.
Customers should consult Techmer PM’s Technical Service Department to obtain specific limitations for each application. “When used at the recommended levels, Techflow has been proven safe and effective in a variety of applications,” said Loney.
